NZ POST UPDATE

As an essential service, NZ Post is committed and proud to continue to deliver for New Zealand.  With Auckland in Alert Level 3 and the COVID-19 situation continuing to evolve, we have put in place additional safety measures, which have meant some changes in process and parcel delivery times.

Auckland parcel delivery delays

Due to physical distancing and other additional safety measures we have in place at our Auckland Operations Centre, parcels are taking a little longer than usual to process. Please expect delivery delays of up to one day for parcel deliveries within Auckland at this time.  Mail deliveries are not impacted.

If you are waiting to receive a parcel you can check the status of your parcel here.

To help us deliver your parcel first time you can set up Parcel Leave.  This means we’ll be able to leave your parcel in a safe place of your choice.

Sending parcels into and from Auckland

If you have sent a parcel to an Auckland business address and that business is temporarily closed and we cannot deliver to it, we will return the parcel to you.  In this situation, redirection is not available in Auckland under Alert Level 3.

You can still send a parcel from Auckland either by going in to one of our open NZ Post retail outlets or through our online sending tool,  but please expect a delivery delay of up to one day.

International delays

We still are experiencing major international delays with parcels in and out of New Zealand due to insufficient airfreight capacity and COVID-19 government restrictions.  We expect this to continue for some time.  You can find out more information around international delays here.

We have reintroduced contactless deliveries nationwide to help further prevent the spread of COVID-19.

When visiting any of our Retail outlets, Box Lobbies or Parcel Collection sites, please do not enter if you’re feeling unwell, maintain physical distancing of 2m and in the Auckland region, please wear a mask to ensure your safety, that of our people and communities.

Thank you for your continued kindness, support and patience as we do all we can to deliver for you and NZ.
